Kapsoul (Kaptured Soul) is a lifestyle brand dedicated to the memory of my father Lam Dang.

Lam immigrated from Vietnam in 1975 following the war, in pursuit of the American dream. However, In the early 2000’s his life changed forever. He developed a devastating neurodegenerative disease that stole his ability to move, communicate, and care for himself.

In a few years, he became confined to the to the tomb of a failed body. He lived in this state for over two decades until the day of his death. Something I always tragically thought of as a “captured soul”.

Why would something bad like this happen? What is the meaning behind this? These are questions I used to ask myself daily.

As I grew older and through the wisdom of life, I began to take on a belief system that rather than discovering meaning in life, it is actually for us to give life meaning. So now through Kapsoul; this is me, trying to construct meaning through it all and attempt to build something special from tragedy.

Kapsoul is a lifestyle brand for those who choose to live life with purpose and resilience. For those who have an understanding that we are in this world together and together we are a part of something infinite.

My dream is to grow Kapsoul to be a force for charity, community, healing, and a space to celebrate life.
